A man was arrested after unleashing a barrage of racist insults towards staff and passengers aboard an American Airlines flight in Tampa, Florida.

Shail Patel, 29, faced charges of battery and disorderly intoxication following the incident.

The New York Post reported that the altercation occurred on AA Flight 2506 while the aircraft was still at the gate. Patel's disruptive behavior led to his removal from the plane and subsequent arrest at approximately 5:30 pm. Despite the disruption, the flight to Philadelphia departed only thirty minutes behind schedule.

During the episode, Patel directed offensive language towards a flight attendant, referring to them using a derogatory term. He then accused other passengers of conspiring against him, emphasizing the racial composition of the individuals on board.

"I'm trying to get to my home country and you all people made it harder for me to get to my home country," Patel exclaimed before a scuffle ensued when asked to leave his seat by another passenger who identified as a police officer.

Following the altercation, Patel was escorted off the plane with the assistance of a female passenger who also claimed to be a police officer. Court documents revealed that Patel exhibited signs of intoxication and disruptive behavior prior to the incident.

Patel, who remains in custody at Hillsborough County jail, faces a bond set at $2,150.
