A woman in Burlington, Iowa, who identifies as a witch, was drawn to a "Witches Welcome" sign outside a stranger's residence, leading to a near conflagration on the porch, as per local authorities.

Michelle Young, 46, was discovered by responding officers allegedly setting fire to an array of peculiar items, including a taillight, tin foil, bark, and a yellow lawn flag, outside what she believed to be her friend's house, according to The Hawk Eye, citing the probable cause affidavit.

Despite spending approximately two hours scavenging for odd objects in the vicinity, Young claimed she had no intention of causing harm or letting the fire spiral out of control, the local newspaper detailed.

While Young insisted she mistook the property for her friend's, the homeowner refuted this, asserting no prior acquaintance with Young.
