Megyn Kelly, a prominent figure on Sirius XM, has openly criticized former CNN host Don Lemon for his conduct during an interview with Elon Musk, which was intended for his new show.

Kelly accused Lemon of mishandling the situation even before the show's launch, reminding the dismissed CNN anchor that he is not a victim in this scenario.

"Don Lemon has been dismissed yet again. He was let go even before he was properly hired. It seems to be a challenge for Don Lemon to maintain a job, and the reasons are clear," Kelly remarked.

Lemon had announced in January that he would be hosting "The Don Lemon Show" on X, following his dismissal from CNN in April 2023. However, his partnership with Musk was abruptly terminated on Wednesday after an interview with the tech mogul that reportedly altered their relationship.

"Elon Musk is known for taking risks, so perhaps he thought this would be an exciting gamble. It was as risky as launching spaceships into outer space," Kelly commented. "He probably assumed Lemon was just another left-wing commentator. I doubt Musk spent much time watching CNN Primetime, which had a very limited viewership."

Kelly went on to discuss Musk's attempts to diversify X by including voices from both ends of the political spectrum, such as Tucker from the right and Lemon from the left. However, she highlighted the key takeaway from Lemon's interview with Musk: "Don't interview your boss."

Kelly continued, "Don Lemon behaved ungratefully towards Elon Musk, who had given his career a second chance. It's challenging for Lemon to be both a good journalist and a good employee. He owes Musk a degree of respect and discretion as his employer. However, he also wanted to demonstrate his hard-hitting journalism skills in his first interview back, and these two objectives are not aligned."

Kelly also noted that Lemon, through Allison Gollust, threatened to sue Musk over their disagreement. Gollust had previously served as the chief marketing officer at CNN while involved in a relationship with Zucker, the company's president at the time. Despite Lemon's claims that Musk is against free speech, Kelly pointed out that Lemon can still express his views on Musk's platform without receiving payment.

Kelly stated, "Firstly, he hasn't lost any freedom of speech. He will have the same limited viewership as before, even without Musk's financial support."

She also mentioned the reported $25 million payout Lemon received from CNN following his dismissal, and the multimillion-dollar deal Musk had offered him. Kelly concluded, "And now he's claiming that his free speech is being violated. But he's not the victim here. He's not a victim in any sense, yet he continues to evade repercussions."
