In a recent turn of events, Alabama Republican Senator Katie Britt found herself at the receiving end of a joke by comedian Jimmy Kimmel during the 96th Oscars awards ceremony.

Kimmel, who was hosting the event, made a comparison between Britt and actress Emma Stone's character in the Oscar-nominated film 'Poor Things.'

"Emma Stone is an Oscar nominee for a fifth time, right? You were so unbelievably great in ‘Poor Things,’" Kimmel said. He then added, "Emma played an adult woman with the brain of a child, like the lady who gave the rebuttal to the State of the Union on Thursday night."

The 'lady' Kimmel referred to was none other than Senator Britt, who has been facing online backlash after her Republican response to President Biden's State of the Union address. In her response, Britt criticized President Biden's handling of the border crisis, calling it "despicable." She also took a jab at the president's economic policies, referring to them as "Bidenomics," amid the rising consumer costs affecting American families.

Adding to the mockery, actress Scarlett Johansson impersonated Britt on "Saturday Night Live." Johansson's parody included a monologue titled ‘This Country is Hell,' where she portrayed Britt as a 'scary mom' and 'the craziest b---- in the Target parking lot.' The actress also poked fun at Britt's cross necklace and her comments on the border crisis.

Despite the ridicule, Senator Britt remains steadfast in her criticism of President Biden's leadership. "You think about the parents whose children have died of fentanyl poisoning. Enough is enough, and the president needs to assume responsibility," Britt stated on "Fox & Friends." She further argued that President Trump had provided a roadmap for securing the border and ensuring the country's safety, but President Biden refuses to follow it.

Senator Britt, who had never held an elected office before her victory in the 2022 midterms, continues to build her national profile. When Fox News Digital reached out to Britt's office for a comment, there was no immediate response.
