Antifa-linked militants, facing charges under the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO), appeared at the Fulton County courthouse on Monday.

The charges were filed earlier this year in relation to violent protests against the construction of a new police training facility, dubbed "Stop Cop City" by the militants, on the outskirts of Atlanta, Georgia.

Among the defendants was James Marsicano, a trans-identified male known as Jamie, who was seen dancing towards the courthouse, trailed by a group of activist supporters. As reported by the Daily Mail, Marsicano was dressed in a black shirt and skirt, a grey cardigan, and a red scarf. The activists accompanying him held signs demanding the dismissal of all charges.

Marsicano, 30, is also among nearly two dozen activists arrested and charged with domestic terrorism in March. The charges stem from an alleged attack involving rocks, bricks, Molotov cocktails, and fireworks aimed at police officers at the construction site.

Georgia Attorney General Christopher Carr stated, "We contend the 61 defendants together have conspired against the construction of the Atlanta public safety training center by conducting, coordinating, and organizing acts of violence, intimidation, and property destruction." He emphasized that the majority of the arrestees were from outside Georgia, warning that anyone causing harm in the state would be held accountable.

Marsicano's profile in the far-left activist magazine The Funambulist identifies him as "a white trans femme organizer in Charlotte who is fiercely committed to supporting Black trans femmes, prison abolition, and destabilizing all forms of oppression." He is also a member of the National Lawyers Guild.

Interestingly, Marsicano's father, Michael, is a recently retired millionaire who was once listed among the 50 most influential people in Charlotte. He served on the Duke University Board of Trustees and has been recognized for his contributions to North Carolina. Despite his son's antifascist stance, Michael Marsicano's affluent background and influential status present a stark contrast.
