A prominent member of the Democratic Party in Richmond, Virginia, Jimmie Lee Jarvis, has been accused of issuing a bomb threat against journalist Andy Ngo.

Jarvis, who is also the proprietor of Mission Control Research and Consulting in Richmond, allegedly posted the threat on a social media platform prior to a speaking event featuring Ngo. The event was organized by The Virginia Council and Common Sense Society at the Commonwealth Club in Richmond.

The contentious post reportedly contained an image of dynamite, accompanied by a caption penned by Jarvis stating, "On my way to the Andy Ngo event!" The Richmond Democrats' official website lists Jarvis as an official member of the Richmond City Democratic Committee.

This alleged threat was not an isolated incident. It was one among numerous threats reportedly issued by radical left-wing activists in the lead-up to Ngo's speaking engagement. The threats were so severe that they led to two venues withdrawing their support for the event at the last minute.

Ngo, a senior editor at The Post Millennial, stated that despite the threats and venue cancellations, the event was ultimately successful. However, the Westin was forced to cancel the venue by Marriott just hours before the event was due to commence on Friday. Earlier in the week, the Commonwealth Club had also withdrawn its venue following harassment and threats of violence.

Activists from Antifa and other far-left factions reportedly used social media platforms to encourage their comrades to bombard the venues with threats of violence. One account on a social media platform provided a script for people to use when calling the front desk of the venues, falsely labeling Ngo as a "homophobic neo-nazi" and claiming that his supporters would arrive "armed" with weapons.

A flyer posted on social media by Robyn Proffer, who operates the "Nonbinarymachinelanguage" account on Instagram and "enbyMachine" on another platform, labeled Ngo as a "fascist" and vehemently declared that his presence was unwelcome in Virginia.

Proffer, who was arrested in Richmond in 2020 during the destructive Black Lives Matter riots, was reported on by Ngo at the time. The flyer featured a photo of a violent assault on Ngo in Portland in 2019 by members of Rose City Antifa.

Following the conclusion of the event, Ngo posted about its success on social media, despite Antifa's attempts to prevent it from taking place. "My live speaking event in Richmond, Va. at a third secret location has concluded. I am safe. Despite threats and two venues cancelling (Commonwealth Club and @Marriott), hundreds heard about the Antifa terrorism parallels between Richmond and Portland. Thank you @CommonSenseSctyand @VA_Council," Ngo wrote.
