The co-hosts of "The View" brushed off concerns regarding President Biden's failure to acknowledge his seventh grandchild on Monday.

However, co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin pointed out that they would address the issue if it were Donald Trump's grandchild.

During the show, co-host Whoopi Goldberg called out Maureen Dowd of The New York Times, who criticized Biden for not acknowledging one of his grandchildren. Goldberg told Dowd to "find something else to write about" and emphasized that the information was private and not necessary for the public to know.

Griffin expressed her belief that if it were Trump in this situation, they would definitely discuss it. Another host chimed in, suggesting that Trump probably had similar issues with acknowledging his own grandchild, Tiffany.

Goldberg argued that it was acceptable to talk about the President's family members if they were grown adults, but in this case, it involved a baby. She criticized Dowd for making it a problem, stating, "She has no business doing this – she has made this a problem. Not Hunter, not this woman. She's made it a problem."

Dowd's column, titled "It's Seven Grandkids, Mr. President," criticized Biden for consistently omitting the existence of his seventh grandchild, Navy Joan Roberts, who is the child of Hunter Biden and Lunden Roberts.

Co-host Sara Haines questioned why the White House felt the need to explicitly mention that the Bidens have six grandchildren. She shared her own experience, explaining that her parents simply say, "we love all our kids. We love our grandbabies," without repeatedly emphasizing the number.

Co-host Ana Navarro suggested that the reason for this emphasis was due to the right-wing's constant questioning of Biden about his children. Navarro stated, "the right wing, who is weaponizing everything related to Hunter, keeps asking, so how many children do you have, Mr. President?"

Griffin pointed out that Biden had acknowledged his six grandchildren in previous speeches he had written.

In her column, Dowd criticized Biden for his outdated and inauthentic view of family, stating, "What the Navy story reveals is how dated and inauthentic the 80-year-old President's view of family is." She argued that by disregarding Navy's existence, Biden undermined his own political narrative centered around the importance of family and empathy, which he has often emphasized throughout his career.
