According to WFTX, a routine traffic stop for a vehicle with suspected illegal tint led to a drug bust and the dispatch of a hazardous materials team after officers became suspicious of drug use.
The car was pulled over on I-95, and the Florida Highway Patrol reported that the driver, a 42-year-old woman, and the passenger, a 41-year-old man, were traveling to Apopka, Florida, via Charleston, North Carolina.

During the investigation, the trooper observed visual and behavioral signs of illegal drug use from the individuals. Surprisingly, both occupants consented to a search of the vehicle.

The trooper discovered liquid and crystal methamphetamine in the car, along with materials used for manufacturing the drug.
In response to the discovery, a hazmat team was called to the scene. They were seen searching the vehicle and decontaminating themselves.

"[Florida Highway Patrol] requested assistance with a mobile meth lab at the I-95 Welcome Center. NCSO and NCFR are both on scene. Traffic to the welcome center is shut down and it has been evacuated," tweeted the Nassau County Sheriff's Office.
Officials emphasized the hazardous nature of the chemicals involved in meth production, noting their flammability and the serious health risks associated with inhalation or ingestion. The Florida Highway Patrol also warned that the contaminants could cause severe burns upon contact with the skin.

Both suspects were transported to the Nassau County Jail, where they face charges of trafficking, possession, and manufacturing of methamphetamine.
As a result of the investigation, the tourism location was temporarily closed.
