Elon Musk, the owner of Twitter, recently addressed the throttling of the @LibsOfTikTok account, revealing that an automated system had detected nudity in some of the media posted by the account.

The @LibsOfTikTok account, managed by author and activist Chaya Raichik, reached out to Musk on Sunday, expressing concerns about being shadow banned, which means that the account is difficult to find when searched for. Raichik shared screenshots of messages she had received alerting her to the issue.

Musk, who follows @LibsOfTikTok's content, responded a few hours later, acknowledging and addressing the problem. However, it was Musk's description of the mechanism that caused the issue that quickly caught Twitter's attention. He referred to it as the "d**k pic bot," explaining that it is an automated system that detects nudity.

In this case, the mechanism detected nudity in media from Pride parades that @LibsOfTikTok had posted. Musk clarified that the corrective action taken was to label the individual posts as "not safe for work" (NSFW) rather than flagging the entire account. He assured Raichik that the issue had been resolved.

Raichik expressed her gratitude to Musk for resolving the problem and shared a screenshot showing that she was no longer shadow banned. She later tweeted from her personal account, highlighting the existence of the "d**k pic bot" on Twitter, accompanied by a crying laughing face emoji.

It remains unclear which specific media triggered the detection mechanism and subsequent shadow banning. As reported by TheBlaze, several Pride parades in June featured individuals who were either partially or fully unclothed.

For instance, Rose Montoya, a transgender person, cupped surgically-created breasts on the White House lawn during a Pride celebration party on June 10, after meeting President Biden. Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre condemned such behavior, deeming it "simply unacceptable." She also stated that those involved would not be invited back.

The issue has since been resolved, with individual posts now labeled as NSFW. Chaya Raichik, the account owner, expressed her appreciation to Musk for fixing the problem.
