Two newborn baby girls were tragically found dead inside a garbage bag at a day care center in Chicago, according to authorities.

The shocking discovery was made by janitorial workers at the Bernice Lavin Early Childhood Education Center on Thursday evening.

Sources close to the investigation have revealed that a 29-year-old woman, who is believed to be a day care employee, was found in a first-floor bathroom covered in blood.

Emergency services were called, and the woman was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Northwestern spokesman Christopher King confirmed the incident, stating that it involved a daycare employee and did not impact any of the children enrolled at the center.

The Chicago Fire and Police Departments were called to the scene, and Northwestern is cooperating with the police investigation.
