Vice President Kamala Harris faced ridicule on social media for her verbose explanation of the meaning of "culture" during her appearance at the 2023 Essence Festival of Culture.

Many criticized her comments as nonsensical and empty.

Harris, while discussing various topics including small businesses and abortion, attempted to define culture. She stated, "Culture is — it is a reflection of our moment and our time. Right?

And present culture is the way we express how we're feeling about the moment and we should always find times to express how we feel about the moment.

That is a reflection of joy. Because, you know…it comes in the morning," Harris said, breaking into laughter.

Twitter users were quick to mock Harris for her "empty" statements. Comedian Tim Young wrote, "Kamala tried to define the word 'culture' today... And it went about as well as if a 9-year-old had to give a book report on a book they didn't read...

This is cringier than most Biden talks." Hot Air contributing editor Karen Townsend exclaimed, "Good Lord." Radio host Chris Stigall tweeted, "This is the emptiest human being alive. Sincerely. Empty. Vapid.

Nonsense." Fox News contributor Liz Peek tweeted, "OMG - what is wrong with this babbling brook of a woman?"

The criticism continued with Twitchy's Doug Powers joking, "Can somebody tell Kamala she shouldn't be eating every gummy in the package all at once?"

Investor Jason Howerton remarked, "Kamala Harris is just Michael Scott in female form and Vice President vs. branch manager." Actor James Woods tweeted, "Artificial Intelligence Czar explains 'culture'." YouTuber Ranting Monkey summarized, "Kamala will go down in history as the most quotable woman to even be a woman who makes quotes about quotes a woman might quote."

This is not the first time Harris has faced mockery for her public speaking. In April, she delivered a rambling speech about the importance of "the moment" at a rally for abortion rights.

"So I think it's very important, as you have heard from so many incredible leaders for us at every moment in time and certainly this one, to see the moment in time in which we exist and are present, and to be able to contextualize it, to understand where we exist in the history and in the moment as it relates not only to the past but the future," she said.

Harris has also been known to reuse certain phrases in her speeches, such as "being unburdened by what has been" and references to Venn diagrams and yellow school buses.

In January, she expressed her love for Venn diagrams, stating, "I love Venn diagrams. I do. I love Venn diagrams. So, the three circles — and you can do more! Nobody says a Venn diagram has to only be three circles, right?"

Critics argue that Harris's repetitive and convoluted language raises questions about her ability to effectively communicate and connect with the American people.

As the vice president, her words carry weight and should be clear and concise, rather than confusing and empty.
