A prominent left-wing Twitter influencer, known for her controversial and provocative views, has been suspended from the platform.

Erica Marsh, who gained a substantial following since joining Twitter in September 2022, regularly incited outrage with her opinions on race, abortion, and her celebration of the death of Jan 6 protester Ashli Babbitt.

However, her Twitter account was suspended on Sunday following reports suggesting that she may not be a real person.

In the days leading up to her suspension, Marsh sparked further controversy with a tweet responding to the Supreme Court's Affirmative Action ruling.

In the tweet, she claimed that the decision was a direct attack on Black people, asserting that no Black individual would be able to succeed in a merit-based system.

The tweet quickly garnered attention, receiving 27 million views and drawing criticism from both conservatives and liberals.

Conservative political commentator Dinesh D'Douza labeled Marsh's tweet as "racism pure and simple," while former Congressman Vernon Jones described it as "the most racist, degrading, offensive, and downright insulting comment ever made about Black people."

Following Marsh's suspension, experts interviewed by The Washington Post cast doubt on her existence, stating that there is no evidence to support her being a real person.

The profile photo she used on Twitter is believed to be an AI-generated image, and there are no records of her in phone or voting databases. Furthermore, the Biden campaign, where Marsh claimed to have worked as a field organizer, has no record of her employment.

The Obama Foundation, where she claimed to have volunteered, also stated that they have no record of her in their volunteer databases. Apart from her now-suspended Twitter account and a TikTok account that shared her tweets, there is little online presence of Marsh.

According to Twitter's Misleading and Deceptive Identities Policy, accounts that use deceptive identities can be suspended for violating the platform's terms of service.

However, the policy also allows for the possibility of account reinstatement if the user provides government-issued identification to prove their authenticity. In Marsh's case, this option may be impossible, as analysts suggest that she may not even exist.
