Neighbors of a Houston man who was found alive after disappearing as a teenager eight years ago have raised doubts about his reported disappearance, claiming they frequently saw him in the community.

Kisha Ross and her family expressed shock upon hearing the news that Rudy Farias had been located, as they were unaware that he had been reported missing in 2015.

According to civil court records cited by KTRK, Farias' mother lives on the same street in northeast Houston.

Ross stated that Farias used to visit her garage and spend time with her cousin, son, and daughter. She firmly asserted, "That boy has never been missing," adding that he would often go to the park alone.

Broderick Conley, Ross' cousin, confirmed that he and Farias would hang out frequently and have a great time together.

Other neighbors, who know Farias as Dolph, a nickname for Rudolph, informed KTRK that he had been a regular visitor to their home. However, they had not seen him in the past few weeks.

Another neighbor, who chose to remain anonymous, expressed shock at the revelation, stating, "I was just shocked someone over here was missing — and we see him. It's shocking to everyone." This neighbor claimed to have seen Farias living at his mother's home for years.

Farias was discovered beaten and bruised outside a church on Thursday by a good Samaritan who promptly called 911, according to his mother, Janie Santana.

Santana revealed that Farias was still wearing his deceased brother's necklace, who had tragically died in a motorcycle accident in 2011.

She also mentioned that Farias was nonverbal and receiving the necessary care to overcome his trauma. Santana, speaking through a statement provided by the Texas Center for the Missing, explained that the family had no additional information about the case or Farias' whereabouts since 2015.

In 2015, Texas EquuSearch reported that Farias suffered from depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and anxiety at the time of his disappearance. They suggested that his failure to take his medication might have caused disorientation.

On Tuesday, Santana claimed that the man her neighbors had spent time with and seen living with her was her nephew, contradicting their assertions. She showed KTRK a photograph of the person, but the neighbors insisted that it was not Farias.

Confusion and uncertainty surround the situation for both the neighbors and Farias' family. Ross expressed her bewilderment, stating, "I do not know.

That's what I have been trying to figure out all day. I am confused right now. I am like, 'What's going on?'" In 2018, Farias' family reported an apparent sighting of him, but the police were unable to locate him after receiving a tip that he had been living behind a relative's home.

Initially, authorities did not suspect foul play when he was first reported missing.

Tim Miller, the director of Texas EquuSearch, described Farias' reappearance as a miracle. He expressed astonishment at the turn of events, stating, "How did this happen? We believe in miracles, and this certainly was a miracle.

I can't even tell you how many times we searched and how many leads and tips came in and they just kind of faded away, and now all of a sudden, this." The mystery surrounding Farias' disappearance and subsequent reappearance continues to captivate the community.
