Boston University School of Law students are being encouraged to seek therapy following a series of conservative Supreme Court decisions, including one that struck down the use of racial preferences in university admissions.

According to a report by Fox News Digital, the BU Law Student Government Association (SGA) sent an email to students expressing their disapproval of the Court's rulings in Students for Fair Admissions v. Harvard (the case involving racial preferences), 303 Creative LLC. v. Elenis (which upheld the right of a website designer to refuse pro-same-sex messages demanded by the state), and Biden v. Nebraska (which ended President Joe Biden's student loan transfer program).

In response, the SGA reminded students of the availability of mental health "wellness resources." The email stated, "[The assenting judges] went so far as to say that the race-based admission system uses race as a negative and operates it as a stereotype.

They may couch their opinion in legal jargon, but we all know what this opinion aims to do: advocate for a 'colorblind' admission process."

The email also referenced Justice Sotomayor's dissent, stating, "However, as many of our students know and Justice Sotomayor says in her dissent, 'ignoring race will not equalize a society that is racially unequal.'"

The SGA concluded the email by reminding students of the support available to them, saying, "As a reminder, BU also offers a number of wellness resources that are willing and able to help students navigate these times."

This move by the BU Law Student Government Association comes amidst a growing trend of law schools providing counseling services to left-wing students who are disappointed by conservative outcomes.

In 2016, some law schools offered counseling services to students upset by Donald Trump's victory in the presidential election. Similarly, in 2020, students pressured universities to cancel exams following the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis.
