A 25-year-old man from Houston who had been missing for eight years has been found alive, with cuts and bruises all over his body, according to officials and his family.

Rudy Farias, who was reported missing in 2015 at the age of 17, was miraculously reunited with his family on Saturday, as announced by the Texas Center for the Missing in a shocking update on Sunday.

Farias disappeared while walking his two dogs near his family's home. While the dogs returned home, Farias never did, according to a missing person organization.

He was discovered by good Samaritans outside a church, who promptly called 911 when they noticed he was unresponsive.

Farias' mother revealed that he had cuts and bruises, as well as blood in his hair. She expressed her gratitude to have him back, despite acknowledging that he was in "bad shape" mentally and physically.

Paradise revealed that Farias IV's brother had been his closest companion and had experienced numerous hardships at such a young age. Despite his condition when discovered, the young man still clung to his deceased brother's necklace.

At the time of his disappearance, Farias was known to suffer from depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and anxiety, as stated by Texas EquuSearch in 2015.

The organization had launched a search for Farias, noting that he may have been disoriented due to not taking his medication.

In 2015, Farias' family shared that his brother had tragically died in a motorcycle crash. Brenda Paradise, a private investigator hired by the family, revealed that Farias had witnessed his best friend's death firsthand.

The loss of his brother and the traumatic event had likely taken a toll on his mental well-being.

Tim Miller, the director of Texas EquuSearch, described Farias' return as a miracle.

He expressed astonishment at the turn of events, considering the extensive search efforts and the numerous leads that had ultimately led nowhere.

The circumstances of what happened, where it happened, and how it happened all require further investigation.

As of now, further information about the case remains unknown.
