Former New Jersey Governor and Republican presidential candidate Chris Christie took a jab at former President Donald Trump on Friday, claiming that he is "living rent-free in Donald's head."

This came after Trump shared a photo of Christie sleeping on a plane, accompanied by the caption, "Resting after a good 25 minutes of work!"

Christie responded by retweeting Trump's post and urging supporters to donate to his campaign, stating, "Make me a permanent resident. Donate today."

As the 2024 race for the White House heats up, Republican contenders are ramping up their attacks on one another. However, Christie has been one of the few GOP candidates to consistently criticize Trump.

In a recent interview with Politico, Christie referred to Trump as "the cheapest S.O.B. I've ever met in my life," accusing him of misusing campaign funds. Christie highlighted Trump's refusal to pay his own legal fees, instead relying on donations from his supporters.

Furthermore, Christie blamed Trump for the Republican Party's losses in recent elections. During an appearance on Fox News Channel's "Fox and Friends," Christie argued that Trump's divisive tactics have led to electoral defeats.

He pointed out that the party lost control of the House in 2018, the Senate and the White House in 2020, and suffered further losses in governorship and Senate races in 2022.

Christie emphasized the negative impact of Trump's leadership on the party's electoral performance.

Christie expressed his determination to save the Republican Party and the country from being led by Trump, whom he deemed unfit for the presidency.

In a recent appearance on "Fox News Tonight," Christie expressed his reluctance to support either President Joe Biden or Trump.

When asked if he would vote for Trump, Christie responded, "I can't support either one of them."

He cited concerns about Biden's age and Trump's ability to win as reasons for his lack of support. Christie emphasized that both candidates were incompetent and unqualified to hold the highest office in the country.

As the 2024 presidential election approaches, tensions within the Republican Party are escalating. While many GOP contenders are vying for the nomination, Christie has emerged as a vocal critic of Trump.

His willingness to challenge the former president and his policies sets him apart from his Republican counterparts. Christie's remarks reflect a growing divide within the party, as Republicans grapple with the question of Trump's influence and the future direction of the GOP.
