Senator Tim Scott from South Carolina recently declared that the decision to overrule affirmative action was beautiful.

Then, he took a minute to hit back at the Obamas. The Presidential hopeful announced that the left, including the Obamas, are pushing lies to Americans.

According to Fox News, he said, “I’m running for president because I know America can do for anyone what she has done for me. But sending the message that somehow the color of your skin means that you will not be able to achieve your goals from an educational perspective, income perspective, or family formation is a lie from the pit of hell. We will not be judged solely by the color of our skin. That’s what the ruling said today. But that is the story of America. That is a story of American progress, and we can all celebrate that today.”

The Supreme Court released the ruling on Thursday. The ruling means that colleges cannot use race as a determining factor. One judge released an opinion that said an individual’s strength and character must be tied to that student, their struggles, and not their race.

The opinion went on to point out that higher education institutions have done the opposite for years now. Instead of being based on strength, character, and skills, they have been primarily based on race. This is not what our country stands for. Instead, it should be equal for all people instead of what box they check next to their race. Now, the Supreme Court ensures that it is based on skill instead of skin color.

Justice Thomas wrote his piece, and he said it perfectly. According to Fox News, he “sees the universities’ admissions policies for what they are: rudderless, race-based preferences designed to ensure a particular racial mix in their entering classes. Those policies fly in the face of our colorblind Constitution and our Nation’s equality ideal. In short, they are plainly — and boldly — unconstitutional.”
