Ryan says that it could be a disaster if the party nominates former President Trump for President. According to Ryan, it will be dangerous if Trump wins.
Ryan isn’t the only one that’s against the nomination. Representative Liz Cheney quickly points out what she also believes is the danger of a nomination. Cheney said the Democrats won’t take it seriously and think they can beat him. However, that’s not all she had to say. Breitbart said, “She went on, ‘And that is playing with fire. It’s a risk we can’t take. So I think it’s essential for everyone to look at the threat that he poses outside of party ideology. It’s something we got to take very seriously and stand against.’”
Ryan says it would be a disaster for the entire party if they nominate Trump. Ryan said they haven’t won with him since 2016, and he blames every loss since 2016 on former President Trump. The former House Speaker said he'd go with anyone as long as it isn’t Trump. He went on to talk about how he doesn’t think he’s a good fit and he doesn’t think he’ll win. Then, however, he sided with Cheney, saying that if he does win, it could be dangerous.

As the loyal Trump base continues to grow, so does the group of people that avidly support him never going near the White House again. And, those who support a Trump run for President also tend to disregard anything Ryan or Cheney have to say.
