The former governor of South Carolina, US ambassador to the United Nations, and current Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley drew a hard line in the sand to China.

In a speech on Tuesday at the American Enterprise Institute in Washington, DC, she expressed that for relations to improve, Chinese Communists must stop sending Fentanyl across our border.

Fentanyl continues to pose life-threatening problems for Americans. According to the CDC Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Fentanyl killed more than 70,000 Americans in 2021 and more than 80,000 in 2022.

During her half-hour talk, Haley said: "We've tried sanctions, but they're not working. We must ratchet up the pressure. As president, I will push Congress to revoke permanent normal trade relations until the flow of Fentanyl ends." She continued, "If China wants to start normal trade again, it will stop killing Americans."

Her warning of aspirations to revoke China's permanent normal trade relations until Fentanyl stops pouring into the United States has made Chinese leaders pay attention. Liu Pengyu, a spokesman for the Chinese Embassy, told Reuters:

"Only those who draw attention by smearing and blame-shifting in the election campaign will end up on the ash heap of history." His comment intended to reflect Haley's earlier comments, "If we rally now, the Chinese Communist Party will eventually end up on the ash heap of history."

Haley also Tweeted: "If the Chinese Communists stopped sending Fentanyl across our border, robbing our businesses, spying on us, and militarily threatening our friends, then we would have a much better relationship."

Haley also supports preventing Chinese buyers from buying up American land. She also wants to end exporting "sensitive technology to China." According to Breitbart, she also advocates blocking American investment in pro-CCP countries and preventing China from purchasing American companies that work with "advanced technologies."
