According to a recent poll by the Saint Anselm College Survey Center, former President Donald Trump is widening his lead over Florida Governor Ron DeSantis in New Hampshire.

The poll, which gathered responses from 1,065 registered voters in the state from June 21-23, revealed that Trump currently enjoys the support of 47% of voters in New Hampshire.

Following Trump in the poll is Governor DeSantis, who received 19% support. Former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie garnered 6% support, while former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley and South Carolina GOP Senator Tim Scott received 5% and 4% support, respectively.

Other contenders for the Republican presidential nomination, including entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, former Vice President Mike Pence, North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum, and former Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson, received 2% support from survey respondents.

Compared to a similar poll conducted earlier this year by Saint Anselm College, Governor DeSantis has experienced a 10-point drop in support in New Hampshire, while Trump has seen a 7-point increase. The March poll showed Trump with 42% support, followed by DeSantis at 29%, Haley at 4%, and Ramaswamy at 3%.

In a hypothetical rematch between Trump and President Biden, New Hampshire voters participating in the poll indicated they would vote for Biden over Trump by a margin of 49% to 40%. Similarly, voters in the state preferred Biden over Governor DeSantis, with 49% supporting Biden and 40% supporting DeSantis in a general election.

However, despite these numbers, Granite State voters believe that a Biden-Trump matchup in 2024 signifies a broken system. According to the poll, 14% of Republicans surveyed, compared to 6% of Democrats, somewhat believe that such a matchup represents the best each political party offers. However, the majority, 83%, disagreed with this sentiment.

The survey also revealed concerns about the age of the candidates. 70% of respondents, including 50% of Democrats, expressed concern about the 80-year-old incumbent President Biden, while only 34% expressed concern about the age of the 77-year-old former President Trump.

Despite his substantial polling numbers against Republican contenders, President Biden remains the clear favorite among Democrats, even in the face of primary challengers. In the latest survey, Robert Kennedy Jr. received 9% support, while Marianne Williamson, who sought the party's nomination for President in 2020, garnered 8% support.

The Saint Anselm College Survey Center conducted the poll using online surveys. The poll has a margin of error of +/- 3.0% with a confidence interval of 95%.
