Actress Jameela Jamil has taken a stand against gender-neutral award categories, arguing that they will "completely shut out women."

The Academy Awards are facing pressure to eliminate gender-specific Oscar award categories due to the rise of gender ideology and an increasing number of people identifying as transgender or non-binary. The Grammys and MTV Movie & TV Awards have already dropped gender-specific awards.

However, Jamil, best known for her role in "The Good Place," has predicted that genderless award categories at the Oscars will decrease the number of women recognized for their work on the big screen. She suggests it would be better to give non-binary people their category rather than open the door for Hollywood to completely shut out women, given the disproportionate number of men vs. women winning at award shows.

Jamil supports transgender ideology, but she exposes the inherent problem of pretending that biological sex is fluid. Jamil cited what happens in sports when physical men who identify as women compete against natural women to justify her fears. In almost every case, the man wins, stealing accomplishments from the hands of women. "If we do Athlete of the year, without gender, it is highly unlikely that aside from the odd year of affirmative action, for optics, anyone other than a cis man is going to win, because they dominate that world," Jamil said. "They generate the most income for the industry, get the most attention and are the biggest stars/names."

Critics accused Jamil of being a "TERF," or "trans-exclusionary radical feminist." That type of backlash, Jamil explained, is why people are reluctant to support liberal causes and believe liberalism is a "cult." She is receiving thousands of messages from people saying that this is why they don't engage in liberal social justice anymore.
