Amidst escalating national security concerns, Representative Lauren Boebert, a Republican from Colorado, has voiced her readiness to instigate impeachment proceedings against President Biden, citing perceived failures in handling border security.

In a discussion with Fox News Digital, Boebert expressed her longstanding intention to put forth articles of impeachment. Having already initiated such actions in the previous Congress, she initially held off in the present one to allow other committees and leadership the space to address the issue.

Emphasizing her main grievance with the Biden administration, Boebert stated, "It's about Joe Biden's failure to secure the southern border." Her condemnation extends to Biden's handling of border issues, asserting his inadequacy in keeping the nation safe. Boebert will push impeachment legislation forward under a privileged motion if other committees or leaders fail to confront the issue.

Boebert referenced Rule IX of the House, detailing her proposed impeachment process, which permits certain legislative pieces to be brought forth under a privileged motion. She would formally present her articles of impeachment on the House floor, at which point leadership would have a maximum of two days to respond with potential committee referrals or direct voting on the articles.

Broadening her support for impeachment proceedings, Boebert also became a co-sponsor for articles of impeachment against President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris. These articles were brought forth by Republican colleague Andy Ogles from Tennessee. In expressing her support for Ogles, she shared, "I support any article of impeachment that is filed that qualifies Joe Biden for impeachment under our Constitution."

Boebert encouraged fellow Republicans to harness their House majority for swift action against the current administration. In her argument, she accused Biden of severely violating his constitutional oath to serve and safeguard the United States and uphold its Constitution.

She proclaimed, "Given the severity of the violation of Joe Biden's constitutional oath to faithfully execute the office of the president, United States to the best of his ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States, this is something that we must do with our majorities in the House of Representatives." Boebert concluded by stating it was their obligation to act, as she believed Biden had not upheld the responsibilities of his presidential office.
