Former President Donald Trump's 2024 presidential campaign has raised over $7 million since he was criminally charged by President Joe Biden's Department of Justice for allegedly mishandling classified documents.

On Wednesday, Trump's official campaign emailed supporters, stating, "President Trump Raises Over $6.6 Million and Counting Since Deranged Jack Smith Announced Political Prosecution."

The fundraising event was held at Trump's Bedminster Club in New Jersey, where $2.1 million was raised. An additional $4.5 million was raised digitally, according to Reuters. A spokesperson for Trump confirmed to Reuters that the amount raised had surpassed $7 million.

On Tuesday, Trump pleaded not guilty to all 37 federal charges brought against him by Biden's DOJ, alleging mishandling of classified documents found at his personal Mar-A-Lago residence. In August, the DOJ employed the FBI to seize 11 boxes of documents from Trump's Mar-a-Lago home and claimed that Trump was impeding their investigation. The DOJ did not permit Trump's attorney to be present during the search and seizure.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Jonathan Goodman issued no conditions for release or bond or travel restrictions.
