In a recent interview with CBS, Tim Parlatore, previously serving as an attorney for ex-President Donald Trump, raised allegations of misconduct by Special Counsel Jack Smith and his team.

The purported misconduct came to light during the grand jury investigation surrounding the potential indictment of the former President over the alleged mishandling of classified documents at his Mar-a-Lago resort.

Parlatore's shock was palpable as he detailed his experiences in the grand jury room, recounting the inappropriate behavior of the prosecution team. "I was really stunned by what I saw...They made many attempts to try to get privileged communications, they would ask me about conversations with my client," he said.

According to Parlatore, not only did the prosecutors attempt to probe into privileged discussions, but they also seemed intent on misleading the jury. He described one instance: "At one point it got to the level where they're asking me this again, and then they'll turn to the grand jury and say you're refusing to provide this information."

Parlatore elaborated on his response to the prosecutor's methods, saying, "No, I'm not refusing to provide, the ethical rules prohibit me, even if the answer to this question is helpful. I'm not allowed to give it, and I turned to the jury and said, and she knows it. She knows that it's an improper question."

Furthermore, the former attorney explained the implication that if someone were genuinely cooperative, they would waive privilege - a ploy he believed was used to infer guilt "based on the invocation of a constitutional right."

Parlatore concluded with a sharp critique, stating, "It's the kind of thing that if that had happened in a trial court, the judge would have immediately stopped, everything probably declared a mistrial, and it's the kind of thing that quite frankly, an attorney, a prosecuting attorney who willfully does that type of thing would potentially face discipline."

Last August, the FBI raided the former President's Mar-a-Lago estate, recovering boxes of government documents. The Attorney General, Merrick Garland, accused Trump of unlawfully possessing these documents, prompting an investigation by Special Counsel Jack Smith.

Earlier this month, Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, Jim Jordan, challenged AG Garland to clarify the extent of the FBI's involvement in the ongoing investigation, stating, "Due to the FBI's documented political bias, the Justice Department must ensure any ongoing investigations are not poisoned by this same politicization."
