Many have been quick to take Pelosi to task for her erroneous statement, with Daily Wire editor-in-chief Ben Shapiro tweeting, "Uh it's ‘innocent until proven guilty’ not opportunity to ‘prove innocence.’"
Former New York City Mayor and Trump's former personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani also weighed in, writing, "Wrong. So obviously wrong. Most Middle Schoolers know this – at least they used to, when civics and the Constitution was respected in schools. You're innocent until proven guilty."

Other reactions included Fox News host Mark Levin's labeling of Pelosi as "Stalinist Pelosi," comedian Tim Young's reminder that "the last time Americans had to 'prove their innocence,' we were governed by the British," and Florida Rep.
