Investigations into the mass shooting at Covenant School in Nashville have revealed that Audrey Hale, the shooter, had legally purchased seven firearms from local stores and stockpiled them in the family home where she was living with her parents.

According to Metro Nashville Police Chief John Drake, her parents were under the impression that she had only one gun, which they believed she had sold. Police recovered a manifesto written by Hale, as well as detailed maps of the school, indicating that she may have targeted the Christian academy where she had once been a student.

Photos from the house show a typical family home, with red tulips in the front yard, framed school portraits in the living room, and a child's bike propped against an exterior wall. However, police revealed that Hale was hiding several weapons in the residence. Neighbors told The Post that police had broken down the home’s front door and used “flash grenades” before the raid. They also mentioned that Hale’s mother Norma Hales was a devout Christain that has posted in the past on social media to “keep guns out of schools.”

The shooter killed three 9-year-olds, a school custodian, a substitute teacher, and the headmistress before being killed by police on the second floor of the school. Police have yet to announce an official motive for the attack, although they believe Hale had targeted the school due to her prior affiliation with it.

They do not believe she had a specific target in mind and instead shot indiscriminately at anyone she encountered. Chief Drake also stated that the shooter’s transgender identity was under investigation, as it was unclear whether she identified as a man or woman. The Police are using female pronouns referring to Hale even though she used male pronouns as well under the name Aiden.

The rampage victims have been identified as Evelyn Dieckhaus, Hallie Scruggs, and William Kinney, all 9, and custodian Mike Hill, 61, substitute teacher Cynthia Peak, 61, and headmistress Katherine Koonce, 60.
