The Murdaugh family farm recently sold in South Carolina, and Buster Murdaugh stands to benefit to the tune of $530,000 from its sale.

The New York Post reports that the farm sale closed three weeks after Alex Murdaugh was tried and convicted of the murder of his wife and son. They also report that local farmers James Ayer and Jeffrey Godley teamed up to purchase the 1,770-acre estate.

The New York Post obtained records showing that the property sold for $3.9 million. One of the purchasers, Godley, happens to own a heating and air conditioning company and other farms in the local community. Ayer also told the Post that they are uncertain about what they plan to do with the property now but will continue to work on figuring this out now.

The New York Post confirmed that Buster Murdaugh, the older brother of Paul Murdaugh, is slated to receive $530,000 from the property sale. Approximately $2.8 million of the sale of the property will go to clients of Mark Tinsley.

He is the legal counsel of Renee Beach as Personal Representative for the Estate of Mallory Beach, Morgan Doughty, and Miley Altman. Therefore, it might be possible for some former Paul Murdaugh victims to receive financial compensation for all that they went through in the boating accident in 2019.

Real estate agent Todd Crosby held the listing, and he says that the new buyers have no connection to the Murdaugh family at all. He says that this will allow for a fresh start on the property and that it will perhaps settle down again related to the property.

The New York Post wrote that on Wednesday, there was an auction of many of the family’s possessions. This auction was set to raise money for the victims of the Murdaugh family crimes and other related issues. Some of the items sold fetched very high price tags. For example, CourtTv reports that the couch that Alex Murdaugh claims he took a nap on during the night of his wife and son’s murder sold for $36,000.

Some other exciting items sold for high prices as well. For example, at the auction, some attractive turtle lamps went for as much as $800. Overall, it seems that many people were interested in being somehow closer to the tragic events on and near the Murdaugh family farm over the last few years.
