Despite a search of the area, Cozzi’s body has yet to be found; however, authorities uncovered pools of blood in the bathroom of the law office, as well as his wallet, phone, keys, and car in the parking lot. As reported by WFLA, managing partner Jake Blanchard noted that Cozzi had gone to the bathroom and never returned. During the investigation, a “strong chemical odor” was present in the men’s restroom, and further forensics revealed a “significant amount of blood.”
A suspicious person and care were reported around the office. Later on in the investigation, a search in the home of Kosowski revealed evidence to connect him to the murder.

At the time of Cozzi’s disappearance, Blanchard Law was representing Kosowski’s former employer, the Laufer Institute for Plastic Surgery, in a lawsuit he had lodged against them four years prior. The suit claims the woman assigned to handle billing insurance for Kosowski had failed to file claims and lied to his patients, leading to negative reviews online and costing the doctor tens of thousands of dollars. Kosowski’s lawsuit contends that “his career was put directly in jeopardy and his reputation has been deeply tarnished.”

Kosowski attended medical school at Dartmouth College in New Hampshire and began working with the Laufer Institute in 2016 before leaving in 2018 to start his own practice. He was taken into custody on Sunday and is being held on a first-degree murder charge. A news release from when he was hired at Laufer described the doctor as a “innovative and accomplished plastic surgeon … who understands the art and science of the human body and how to redefine beauty for each and every patient.”
