As America's largest right-leaning satire website, Babylon Bee's nearly 100 joke headlines that have become true prophecies demonstrate how close reality is to satire in today's world.

With fans often sharing non-satirical, outrageous headlines on Twitter with the hashtag "#NotTheBee," the site responded by launching a new website in 2020 dedicated to just these stories.

Seth Dillon, CEO of the Bee, told Fox News that the problem isn't that their satire is too close to reality but that reality is too close to satire.

Incredible examples of these fulfilled prophecies include the July 2021 article "To Improve Public Perception, Kamala Harris Taking Likability Lessons From Hillary Clinton," which came to fruition a month later when it was reported that a former Clinton advisor hosted a dinner with prominent Democratic women to discuss how to defend Harris from bad press. Similarly, the Bee's 2019 joke "Trump: 'I Have Done More For Christianity Than Jesus,'" was fact-checked and rated false, only for then-President Trump to say two years later that he's done more for Christianity than anyone else in history.

To highlight the extent of the problem, Dillon pointed to the September 2022 article "9 Reasons Not To Worry About The Tanking Economy," which was followed two days later by the Washington Post publishing the headline "7 ways a recession could be good for you financially." He also mentioned the Feb. 3, 2023 joke "Biden Says He’ll Shoot Down Chinese Spy Balloon As Soon As He’s Done Letting It Spy," followed the next day by Biden announcing that the balloon had been shot down over the Atlantic Ocean. Finally, Dillon highlighted the joke from March 2020 about how pants sales were plummeting due to everyone working from home, which was followed the next day, a story about increased sales of tops, but not bottoms at Walmart.

Drawing on its expertise in rewriting text, the Bee provides readers with engaging, credible, and original pieces with a conservative perspective. Its fulfilled prophecies demonstrate the power of satire in today's world. "You know, there needed to be a site dedicated to just covering these specific insane stories that should be satire but somehow aren't," Dillon concluded.
