The latest in their efforts has become known as the war on appliances. The most recent news in the war on appliances regards new regulations for air conditioners that Biden says will reduce carbon emissions.
The Department of Energy, known as the DOE, revealed the new regulations on Thursday. They primarily pertain to window air conditioners, home air conditioning units, and portable air filters. According to the Department of Energy, this will help consumers save money and reduce air pollution.
Fox News reports, “According to the DOE, the new energy efficiency standards will save Americans about $1.5 billion annually and curb carbon dioxide emissions by 106 million metric tons over three decades. The agency added that the regulations were part of President Biden’s efforts to promote innovation and lower costs for families ‘while tackling the climate crisis.’”

According to a previous official that worked for the Department of Energy, this will result in more costly appliances. However, it won’t make a difference or hurt us in the long run, because we’ll have to spend more money on appliances anyway.

So, you’ll have higher-priced appliances that don’t last as long due to decreased quality. On top of that, we still have Biden’s inflation. So, as usual, low-income people will suffer to help the climate initiative while Biden continues his unnecessary trips in private jets.
