The DeSantis administration has revoked the liquor license of a prominent Miami hotel after it hosted a Christmas-themed drag queen show in December with children in attendance, despite warnings against doing so.

The Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation had cautioned the Hyatt Regency Miami against hosting a "sexually explicit show with children present." Still, the hotel went ahead with the event. Consequently, the Department has revoked the venue’s license for the sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages.

The statement from the office of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis emphasized that "sexually explicit content is not appropriate to display to children and doing so violates Florida law. Governor DeSantis stands up for the innocence of children in the classroom and throughout Florida."

At the event, performers displayed prosthetic breasts and genitalia, shoved audience members' faces and mouths with their fake female breasts, deliberately exposed their buttocks, simulated masturbation, and presented realistic images of childbirth and/or abortion, as detailed in a grievance submitted to the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.

The event, titled "A Drag Queen Christmas," was initially promoted by the hotel with Christmas-themed materials that did not warn of sexually explicit content and included the words "all ages welcome."

The complaint noted that although the concert venue was warned to not permit any children, the promotional materials were altered to include a disclaimer that the event was only "recommended for audiences 18+". Nevertheless, the admission policies still allowed children to be present at the concert if they had an adult accompanying them.

The Department's complaint states that "as a result, minors attended and were knowingly admitted," and "during the show and in the presence of persons less than 16 years of age, performers appeared on stage wearing sexually suggestive clothing and prosthetic female genitalia."

Videos were also displayed on the screens behind the performers, depicting "exposed female breasts with less than a fully opaque covering, portrayals of simulated masturbation, and other sexually explicit content." In addition, "perverted versions of popular children’s Christmas songs" were played at the event, including an adaptation of "All I Want for Christmas Is My Two Front Teeth," with a portrayal of oral fellatio and the lyric "I’ll sit on his lap, he can put his milk and cookies all between my gap."

The remixed song "Screwdolph the Red-Nippled Reindeer" also contained sexually explicit lyrics, including "You know Dasher and Dancer and Prancer and Vixen Vomit and Stupid and Dildo and D***s-in…" and "Then one soggy Christmas Eve Santa came to say ‘Screwdolph with your nipples so bright won’t you guide my sleigh tonight."

According to the Florida department, the hotel violated Florida statute by allowing the performance since "exposing genitals in a lewd or lascivious manner and simulated sexual activity are inconsistent with the prevailing standards in the adult community as a whole with respect to what is suitable material for children under the age of 16."

The promotional materials for "A Drag Queen Christmas" included in the complaint indicate that the event has been hosted for the last seven years and has gone on a national tour. A protest both in support and against the event occurred outside an Orlando venue on December 28. The Hyatt Regency Miami did not respond to Fox News’ request for comment.
