The crew on board, a Lufthansa flight told passengers to immediately delete all videos and photos taken after the flight experienced extreme turbulence.

Yahoo! News reported that the Lufthansa flight had to make an emergency landing after the flight went through extreme turbulence. The flight became wild after it hit the patch of turbulence, and it evolved into a chaotic situation very quickly.

Rolanda Schmidt was one of the seven people injured on the flight who spoke with Insider about what happened. Schmidt said that the plane hit significant turbulence, leaving food and personal items scattered throughout the plane.

Lufthansa Flight 469 was en route from Austin, Texas, to Frankfurt, Germany, on March 1. However, the flight hit significant turbulence while it was somewhere over Tennessee.

Schmidt spoke with Insider and said she hit her head on the plastic tray before her after hitting the significant turbulence. She said when that happened, she hit her head again on the plane’s ceiling. The plane then stabilized and started to climb yet again.

She said: “It felt like it hit the eye of a tornado,” and “It would not stop. I thought we were going down.”

She said she was in tears but turned to prayer instead of just screaming like many other passengers. She also reached for her phone and texted her husband to tell him she would die.

She said: “It was one of those moments where within five-to-ten minutes of processing, you knew you were going to die and we didn’t know if we were going to make it safely anywhere,” and “It felt like the insides of your body were being shaken out.”

Yahoo! News reports that Schmidt also reported that she suffered a concussion and had more severe injuries than the “minor injuries” that Lufthansa admitted to.

Schmidt alleges that as the plane began to make an emergency landing at Dulles International Airport, the flight attendant came over the speaker system and told all passengers to delete the photos and videos they might have taken.

Schmidt says that the flight attendant came over the speaker and made the same demand a second time, but this time seemed to imply that the purpose of deleting all of the videos was to protect the privacy of other passengers on board. Schmidt says that is not how it came across but that it seemed the passengers were being threatened about potentially having videos and photos of the incident on their phones.
