Family members are speaking out about how they feel about what their loved ones went through.

They kidnapped their family members on March 3. They say those individuals had traveled to Mexico to obtain some healthcare procedures.

Zalandria Brown spoke with the AP and said: “This is like a bad dream you wish you could wake up from.”

Her brother, Zindell, was one of the four individuals kidnaped at gunpoint in the Mexican state of Tamaulipas. The BBC reported that the other individuals abducted in this case were Latavia McGee, Shaeed Woodard, and Eric James Williams.

Brown continued, saying, “Seeing a member of your family thrown in the back of a truck and dragged is unbelievable.”

The AP reported that the people went to Mexico for a tummy tuck procedure. The four people who traveled to Mexico are said to have taken turns driving the car in Mexico. The four individuals knew the dangers lurking in that part of Mexico, but they made the journey anyway.

Brown said: “Zindell kept saying, ‘We shouldn’t go down,’”

The Daily Caller reports that McGee’s mother, Barbara Burgess, also suggested that the group should not take the trip down to Mexico. Not long after the group had entered Mexico, they were met by gunmen who kidnapped them out of the car. A witness said that an SUV full of armed men approached the vehicle full of Americans and abducted them at gunpoint.

One witness said: “All of a sudden, they (the gunmen) were in front of us,” and “I entered a state of shock. Nobody honked their horn, and nobody moved. Everybody must have been thinking the same thing, ‘If we move, they will see us, or they might shoot us.’”

Tamaulipas’ chief prosecutor, Irving Barrios, said a Mexican woman was killed on March 3. It wasn’t clear if this was related to the shooting that had these Americans kidnapped.

The FBI announced a $50,000 reward for any information that could lead to the arrest of the people who committed this crime. They say this reward will be available to anyone who can produce the information they seek to solve this crime.

Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador said his entire government would be deployed to solve this crime.
