Senator John Fetterman, a Democrat from Pennsylvania, has been hospitalized for clinical depression for three weeks at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.

Fetterman's office stated that he would be back soon and was on his way to recovery.

Fetterman's chief of staff, Adam Jentleson, shared on Twitter that he had a productive morning with the senator, discussing various topics such as rail safety legislation and the Farm Bill. Jentleson added that Fetterman is "laser-focused" on Pennsylvania and expressed his gratitude for all the well-wishes he has received.

Fetterman had checked himself into the hospital on February 15, less than a week after he was discharged following a three-day stay for feelings of lightheadedness. Joe Calvello, Fetterman's communications director, shared last week that the senator is "doing well" and is working with doctors while remaining on the path to recovery.

Fetterman's hospitalization comes after a challenging year, which included suffering from a stroke before the May Democratic Senate primary election and taking a break from the campaign trail to recover. Fetterman underwent surgery to implant a pacemaker with a defibrillator to manage two heart conditions: atrial fibrillation and cardiomyopathy. In January, Fetterman was sworn into the Senate after defeating Republican candidate Dr. Mehmet Oz.

In a recent broadcast, Tucker Carlson from Fox News raised questions about Fetterman's hospitalization and criticized the media for not being more inquisitive about the senator's condition. Carlson stated, "You're not supposed to ask about it, and we won't, because we're decent people who don't kick others when they're down."

Fetterman's office has been transparent about the senator's hospitalization and recovery so far.
