Rebecca Kiessling, the mother of sons Caleb and Kyler, said: “You talk about welcoming those crossing our border “seeking protection” — you’re welcoming drug dealers across our border!” when speaking to Congress, according to Breitbart.
She continued with her testimony by saying:
“I don’t use the term “drug overdose” because this was not an overdose. This was murder. My children got fake Percocet pills that were Fentanyl. There was no Percocet in it at all. And it’s “homicide,” not “overdose.”

Sadly, her sons, aged 20 and 18, died with a 17-year-old friend in a hotel room in Auburn Hills, Michigan, due to a Fentanyl overdose.

“If we had Chinese troops lining up along our southern border with weapons aimed at our people, with weapons of mass destruction aimed at our cities, you damned well know you would do something about it. Rep. Mark Green (R-TN) invited her to testify before Congress. He is the chairman of the House Committee on Homeland Security. He feels that it is important that Congress hears these stories because there is so much that they can learn from hearing from the people throughout this country who need help given the border crisis. It seems the current administration is not doing a lot to prevent the ongoing crisis at the border.

It is, unfortunately, the case that most of the Democrats on the committee used their time to ask for more migration to continue in the area. A press statement from the Democrats completely ignored the testimony of the mother and read:

Democrats want to say that these hearings are about playing political games but seemingly ignore our country’s ongoing major problems along the open borders. Committee Chairman Mark Green, R-Tennessee, blamed the lax border policies on the Biden administration that continue to result in migrants surging across the border. Green said, “...and the drug cartels have taken advantage of the situation.”
