A Chinese virologist, Dr. Li Meng Yan, who had previously alerted the world about the origins of COVID-19, has now claimed that the Chinese government intentionally released the virus, leading to the pandemic.

She spoke to Fox News' Tucker Carlson on Monday regarding the Energy Department's classified intelligence report, which claims that the virus most likely originated from a Chinese laboratory.

When asked if she still believed that the virus was intentionally released, Yan replied, "Of course, it was not an accident." She went on to explain that based on her experience working in a research lab using coronaviruses, it would be impossible for a lab leak to accidentally happen in such a lab and cause the Wuhan outbreak and the pandemic. She added that the Chinese government and military scientists had underestimated the virus's transmissibility, which led to its uncontrolled spread.

Carlson suggested that the Chinese government unleashed COVID-19 to destroy Western economies and elevate its own position globally. Yan dismissed the theory that the outbreak in Wuhan was intentional, saying that it was due to the CCP government and military scientists' miscalculations. However, she alleged that the Chinese government intentionally allowed the virus to spread worldwide to kill millions of people globally.

Dr. Yan was a respected doctor specializing in virology and immunology at the Hong Kong School of Public Health before fleeing in April 2020 after she began looking into the growing number of cases coming out of mainland China involving human-to-human transmission. She reported her findings to her supervisor on January 16, but was warned to "keep silent and be careful" and not cross the government's "red line."

The Energy Department's classified intelligence report has added more fuel to the ongoing debate on the origins of COVID-19. Dr. Yan's claims of an intentional release of the virus by the Chinese government have not been independently verified, but they underscore the need for transparency and accountability in the handling of pandemics.
