A homeless woman in Los Angeles is outraged that local authorities have torn down her “mansion tent.

” This was the housing arrangement she set up for herself. This tent included a hot tub and a full working kitchen. That’s truly impressive when you consider that she had to do all this while only using a simple tent to protect herself from the elements.

The Blaze News reports that Stephanie Arnold Williams referred to herself as the “governor” of skid row and referred to her massive tent setup as the “White House” of Skid Row. The encampment was at 5th and San Pedro, and it included two queen-sized beds, linoleum flooring, and portable toilets. This is an incredibly huge setup for creating the kind of encampment that homeless people in the area typically gather in.

Williams spoke with LA Magazine and said, “They targeted me. They came straight to me with bulldozers. That’s not a routine cleanup to come with a bulldozer,”

She stated she was given just 30 minutes’ notice before they tore down her tent. She says that others in the area were given two weeks’ notice before having their tents taken down. She believes she was specifically targeted because of the effort and work she put into putting up her tent and setting it up with all the amenities mentioned.

Offering her comments to LA Magazine, she said: “They didn’t offer me housing,” and “They didn’t offer me anything. They took my blankets, my contact lenses, all my food. They threw away pots and pans and cups and things I needed to eat.”

City officials spoke with KABC-TV and said their actions were done according to routine city cleanup procedures. Some residents in the area praise the city’s work to help try to clean things up a bit more than before.

“We have to end Skid Row as we know it, and not allow people to suffer and die on the streets,” said Rev. Andy Bales of the Union Rescue Mission.

Many people feel like the fact that Williams was set up in such a luxury tent made her feel more entitled to the things she had than she should have felt.
