Spare is described as an explosive book full of juicy details. One such detail is the story of Prince Harry’s first sexual encounter. According to the memoir, he was 17 years old and in a grassy field behind a pub. However, this actor says that’s a blatant lie.

Rupert Everette, a well-known British actor that played in “My Best Friend’s Wedding,” says that he knows the story isn’t true. Everette recently sat down with The Telegraph for an interview, and his eyes twinkled when he pointed out how inaccurate the story is. According to Fox News, “‘By the way. I know who the woman he lost his virginity to is. And it wasn’t behind a pub. And it wasn’t in this country,’ the ‘My Best Friend’s Wedding’ star said with ‘his dark eyes twinkling,’ according to the outlet.”

During the interview, Everett continued to speak on the matter, confirming more than once that he knows the older woman to whom Prince Harry lost his virginity. However, sources close to Prince Harry were quick to discount the interview. According to Fox News, “Meanwhile, a source close to the Duke of Sussex told the outlet, ‘Amazing that he would know such a personal detail better than Prince Harry himself.’”

The story came about because a royal aide was sent to Harry at 17 to determine if rumors that he was doing drugs were true, and he was worried someone had seen him having sex in a field. In the book, Prince Harry never mentions the name of the woman. Instead, he states that she was an older woman who liked horses. He then references horses when saying she treated him like a young stallion. After that, he points out the irony by mentioning that it happened in a grassy field.

Prince Harry says that he told the aide the rumors were false, but he’s previously admitted to doing drugs at 17, including cocaine.
