A newly emboldened Kathy Griffin reposted her controversial picture of the comedian holding a bloodied, decapitated model of President Trump’s head.

After debuting as a stand up comic in the 1980s, Kathy Griffin soon rose to nationwide fame and would ultimately become a worldwide known comedian. The star has since recorded a whopping 8 comedy albums, one of which got her a Grammy in 2014 for her work on 'Calm Down Gurrl'.

back in 2017, Griffin took quite the 'L' a year after President Donald Trump took office. The comedian took to her Instagram to post a shot of her holding what seemed to be a severed Trump head. While Kathy was known for her risqué material, this appeared to have crossed a line amongst her followers. Not only did she lose a considerable amount of supporters, but Kathy lost a lot of work too.

She was immediately released from her gig as a spokesperson for Squatty Potty, and was under federal investigation by the Justice Department for over 2 months! Throughout this time, Kathy was also put on a no-fly list, where she was then forbidden to travel to keep up appearances on her 'Laugh Your Head Off' tour, which ultimately got canceled. Kathy has yet to bounce back fully from the event, however, she is slowly but surely rising back into the spotlight.

Over the last few years, though, the comedian has started a standup comeback and the controversy was chronicled in the documentary “Kathy Griffin: A Hell of a Story.”

Griffin’s tweet appeared after Trump announced he has won several states where a winner has yet to be announced.

Griffin’s tweet got more than 58,000 likes by early Thursday, but as it seems, this time she hasn’t taken the same blowback she did in 2017.

Twitter rushed to flag the tweet as "potentially sensitive content."

At the time, Trump said she should be “ashamed of herself” over the picture, adding that his then-11-year-old son, Barron, had a “hard time” looking at it.

After the incident, she explained the president was attempting to ruin her life and said she had been getting hate mail over the photo.

Griffin initially apologized, saying she “crossed the line” but a year later, she said she regretted the apology because she thought it was a Trump attempt to try to make her look bad.

After publishing the photo for the second time, Griffin wrote another saying, "It’s not just that trump corrupted the election exactly the way he said he would, post office etc, it’s that 66 million + of my fellow Americans happily voted FOR Racism Sexism Qanoon insanity Pandemic denial Kids in cages Voter suppression Church over State Climate disaster."
